Earlier this month, I had the privilege of visiting Baladhama Sports Academy, a vibrant hub of athletic talent and determination. From the moment I stepped onto the field, I was welcomed by the energy and excitement of young athletes—ranging from 5 to 18 years old—eager to push boundaries and pursue their dreams.
At NextGen Sprints, our mission has always been to empower athletes with the tools, mindset, and methods to unlock their full potential. My visit to Baladhama was a reflection of that very goal. Over a series of dynamic training sessions, we focused on the pillars of sprint performance: speed, strength, agility, and mental resilience.
Building Speed, Strength & Agility—From the Ground Up
Young athletes need more than just raw talent—they need structure, discipline, and smart training. That’s why I designed sessions tailored to their age and development stage:
Speed drills that emphasized explosive movement and sprint mechanics
Strength circuits using bodyweight and functional movement patterns
Agility games to sharpen reaction time and body control
Team-based challenges to build trust and competitive spirit
Each drill wasn’t just about performance—it was about learning how to move with purpose and intent.
Mentoring the Mindset of a Champion
Perhaps the most rewarding part of my visit was the opportunity to speak with these athletes beyond physical training. We spoke about what it takes to mentally stay strong through pressure, setbacks, and self-doubt. I shared stories from my own journey to the Olympic stage—moments of struggle, of triumph, and everything in between.
I encouraged them to see sport not just as a competition, but as a tool for personal growth. Because becoming an elite athlete isn’t just about how fast you run—it’s about the resilience you carry when the odds are against you.
The Power of Passion and Purpose
Baladhama Sports Academy is doing incredible work in shaping India’s sporting future, and I’m honoured to be part of that journey. Watching the spark in those young eyes—some just learning to run, others dreaming of podiums—I’m reminded why I founded NextGen Sprints: to nurture the next generation with knowledge, mentorship, and belief.
To all the athletes I met: keep dreaming big, train smart, and never stop believing in your potential.
